Pixel Bear
Privacy policy
Last updated:
This page explains what Pixel Bear (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit pixelbearfirm.com or get in touch, why we collect it, who sees it and what you can ask us to do with it. Pixel Bear is a Shopify agency based in Cairo, Egypt. Questions about your data: info@pixelbearfirm.com or WhatsApp +20 104 154 5509.
What we collect
- When you send our contact form: your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number (with its country code), your business type, your message, the package you picked, and your agreement to be contacted.
- Sent along with a form: your IP address, your browser’s name and version, the page you sent it from, and where your first visit came from (the ad or campaign tags in its link, the page you landed on and the site that sent you there). They help us spot spam, keep your booking safe and see which of our ads bring enquiries.
- When you message us on WhatsApp or by email: whatever you choose to send us there.
- For every visit: anonymous visit statistics through Google Analytics (which pages are visited, from where, on which device), without its advertising features unless you allow cookies.
- Only if you allow it (the cookie popup): Meta (Facebook) Pixel measurement of our ads and Microsoft Clarity session recordings. See “Cookies” below.
We never ask for card or payment details on this website.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote, book a call and build the store you order.
- To send you your booking reference and project updates.
- To keep the site and our inbox safe from spam and abuse.
- To see which pages help visitors and which ads and campaigns bring enquiries.
- Only if you allow it: to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram with the Meta Pixel, and to watch how visitors use the site with Clarity.
We never sell your personal data.
Who sees it
- Our team. Your form arrives in our inbox and in our client portal, our own system for enquiries and projects. Both are hosted by Hostinger, our web host.
- Google (Analytics) receives information about every visit; if you allow cookies, Meta (Pixel) and Microsoft (Clarity) do too. Each under its own privacy policy: Google, Meta, Microsoft.
- When you send our form with its consent box ticked: we report the enquiry to Meta’s Conversions API from our server, with a scrambled (hashed, SHA-256) copy of your email, phone number and name, your IP address, browser, the page you sent it from and the Facebook or Instagram ad click you came from, if any, to measure our ads. If you also allowed cookies, the Meta Pixel sends the same from your browser. Meta uses it under its own privacy policy; it also learns which package you picked, never your message.
- WhatsApp is run by Meta: messages you send us there follow WhatsApp’s privacy policy.
- Anyone the law requires us to share it with.
Cookies
The site sets one cookie of its own for everyone: pb_utm, which keeps where your first visit came from (the ad or campaign tags in its link, such as utm_source, and a Facebook, Instagram or Google ad click ID; the page you landed on; the site that sent you) for 30 days. It stays on this site and is only sent to us with an enquiry. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (such as _ga) to count visits.
Only after you click “Allow cookies”: the Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity start and set their own cookies (such as _fbp), Google Analytics may use its advertising features, and if you came from a Facebook or Instagram link the site sets Meta’s _fbc, which keeps that click ID for 90 days.
The site also remembers a few things in your own browser: your cookie choice, whether you paused the animations, and what you typed in a form until it is sent. While the tab is open it also keeps your booking reference and, unless you clicked “No thanks”, the click ID of a Facebook or Instagram link and, after you send the form, your email, phone number and name, for the Meta Pixel’s matching. They reach the Pixel only if you allow cookies.
Until you choose, and if you click “No thanks”, nothing is sent to Meta or Microsoft from your browser and Meta’s cookies (_fbp, _fbc) are deleted; “No thanks” also deletes the click ID and details kept for the Pixel. Google Analytics keeps counting visits either way. You can change your mind at any time:
How long we keep it
Enquiries: as long as we need them to answer you and, if you become a client, for the length of our work together plus the records the law asks us to keep. The spam check keeps only a scrambled form of your IP address, for at least 10 minutes: it is deleted, at the latest, with the next form we accept from anyone after that. You can ask us to delete your details sooner (see below).
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or take back your consent at any time. Email info@pixelbearfirm.com and we will reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, laws such as Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (No. 151 of 2020), Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law, the UAE’s data protection law or the EU’s GDPR give you these rights.
Children
Our services are for businesses. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
